Frequently Asked Questions
Most leather and suede garments clean up beautifully; however, there can be exceptions, owing to the fact that these are natural animal skins with the variation that sometimes occurs in nature.
- Can you treat mold?
Yes. Leather-Rich uses specially-formulated anti-mold chemicals which lower the surface tension of water to allow a cleaning product to penetrate porous surfaces such as mold and flush it out with clean, clear water. This procedure kills the mold completely, so with proper storage, the mold will never come back.
- Help! My pet urinated on my coat/boots/gloves! Can you get the stain and smell of urine out?
We can try. Unfortunately, with animal urine - cat urine in particular - cleaning can cause a chemical burn on the soiled portion of the garment. Depending on the severity of the accident, we also cannot guarantee complete odor removal. However, in many cases, it is still worth the effort to try and clean something with urine on it, as the piece would be unwearable/unusable if left unattended. - Can you remove the smell of smoke?
Yes. We use industrial-grade ozone generators in our controlled ozone room to help purge the smell of smoke from your garment. Each garment stays in the ozone room for between 24 and 72 hours to attain the freshest possible results. - Can you reverse water damage?
We have a special process to help with water damage. Water-damaged items should be thoroughly dried before pickup or shipment. Our exclusively designed surfactants in most cases can return garments to their original soft, supple feel by restoring lost oils. - Do you clean blinds/drapes?
We do not currently accept blinds or drapes for cleaning. - Do you clean furniture?
We are able to clean cloth sofa cushions, but not leather or suede. Why? The answer is because after cleaning, the color of the cushions is likely not to be a perfect match for the rest of the couch. Additionally, there is a high risk of shrinkage for leather cushions.
